NEWS CENTRE - DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, Tülay Hatimoğulları, Kurdish politicians Leyla Zana, Ahmet Türk and some DEM Party MPs are present as observers at the ceremony to be held by the "Peace and Democratic Society Group."

 

The "Peace and Democratic Society Group" will destroy its weapons today upon the call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The international delegation travelling from Europe to Silêmanî in South Kurdistan for the ceremony has moved towards the area where the ceremony will be held. The delegation left the hotel where they stayed in Dukan district and entered the ceremony area. 

 

A screen has not yet been set up in the Dukan area, which is the meeting point of names coming from many places. Accompanied by the YNC protocol, the first group travelled to the ceremony area in their national clothes. Afterwards, the observer delegation, including foreign bureaucrats, also travelled to the area. 

 

Journalists also entered the barcovision area set up close to the ceremony area. Any technical equipment and images will be prevented in this area for security reasons. 

 

Media News Agency and Anadolu Agency will film the ceremony.

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, Tülay Hatimoğulları, Kurdish politicians Leyla Zana, Ahmet Türk and some DEM Party MPs are present at the ceremony site as observers. 

 

The footage will be broadcasted by the agencies between 11.00-12.00.

 

International delegations also entered the area.
